Event Details

Join us on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at Chippawa Park Pond in Welland for food, fun and good old fashioned pond hockey. 

​This family event is open to anyone in the Welland community and is FREE to attend. Enjoy watching 'good old' Canadian Pond Hockey while sipping on hot chocolate and eating comfort food provided by local restaurants. Kids carnival games, Silent Auction and more!

EVENT SCHEDULE - NEW FOR 2026  


10:00 am - 2:30 pm Kids Carnival Activities
10:00 am - 2:30 pm Silent Auction 

11:30 am - 2:30 pm Food will be served
11:00 am - 1:00 pm Adult Hockey Tournament

1:30 pm - 2:30 pm  Kids Pickup Hockey

Play Hockey 

Bring your skates and play hockey on the pond at Chippawa Park. If the pond is not frozen, we will be playing ball hockey. 

​

Kids Pick-up Hockey - Puck drops at 1:30 pm

(ages 5-13) play FREE! Register on the day of at 1:00 pm. Teams will be determined depending on number of attendees.

 

Adults 3on3 Tournament - Puck drops at 11:00 am
(ages 14+) Register by 10:00 am. $50 per player. See registration and payment options below.

Adult Hockey Registration Options

Option 1

  • Register your team of 3-4 players - email Quinn Vos at vosquinn@gmail.com

  • Include "Hope Cup Registration" in the subject line of your email to Quinn 

 

Option 2 

  • You can register as an individual and be placed on a team of other individuals up until 10:00 am on the day of the event

Adult Hockey Payment Options

Option 1

  • Make a $50 donation per player online towards the fundraising campaign

  • Print a copy of your donation receipt and bring it with you to the registration area

Option 2 

  • Pay $50 per player on the day of the event - cash only 
     

Adult Hockey Tournament Format 

  • Each Team is guaranteed 3 games of ice hockey or ball hockey (weather depending)

  • Each Game is 10 minutes – Run Time (Championship is 15 minute Run Time) 

  • Each Team is required to report their final score the scorers table directly after their game

  • Jerseys are provided if teams don’t have their own matching jerseys

  • If playing ice hockey, helmets are recommended ​​

  • Reminder: this is a recreational tournament for charity, the goal is to raise money and have fun in the community!
